Urban Angles: Property Marketing Glossary

A plain-English glossary of property marketing terms — Base Photography, proofing, virtual dusk, virtual styling, land box, Super X, DREAM and more.

The vocabulary that comes up when ordering property content, defined plainly.

Photography

Base Photography — Urban Angles' core photography product, ordered as Base 2 (two images, external only), Base 5, Base 10 or Base 15.

Hero shot — the wide, composed image of the property or building as a whole; the lead image of a campaign.

Detail shot — a close image of materials, finishes, joinery or a design feature. Standard in architectural work.

Dusk photography — capture at twilight, with internal and external lighting on. Suits well-presented homes with strong lighting.

Proofing — reviewing the shoot and selecting which frames get retouched, rather than the photographer choosing.

Markup — a note attached to a specific image or plan in DREAM, telling post-production what to change.

Post-production

Virtual Dusk — a delivered daytime image converted to dusk digitally, priced per image. No second shoot required.

Virtual Styling — furnishing and styling an empty or dated interior digitally, priced per image.

Retouching — the in-house finishing pass, from tonal adjustment through to full scene reconstruction.

Plans

Floor plan — the internal layout, branded and styled to the agency, portrait or landscape.

Site plan — the property boundary and building footprint within the block.

Land box — a simplified plan showing block dimensions, used on land listings.

Redraw — an existing plan rebuilt to current branding and standards.

Interactive floor plan — a navigable online version of a plan, letting a buyer move through rooms and levels.

3D and visualisation

Render — a photorealistic image built from plans and specifications rather than captured with a camera.

Facade render — a house design's exterior, produced per facade variant without building each one.

Streetscape render — a street of completed homes, showing the character of a finished estate.

Interior visualisation — a render of an unbuilt interior, to a finishes and joinery specification.

Video

Social Property Trailer — a one-hour shoot delivering roughly 45 seconds for social feeds.

Showcase Video — a two-hour shoot delivering 2–3 minutes plus two 30-second social cuts.

Prestige Video — a three-hour shoot including drone, timelapse, interview and infographics.

FPV — first-person-view drone footage, flown through and around a property for continuous movement.

Aerial

Horizon view — a low aerial looking across the property to its surrounds.

Orbital — a circling aerial move around the property.

Overhead — a straight-down aerial, often used with boundary markups.

CASA — the Civil Aviation Safety Authority, which regulates drone operations in Australia.

Virtual tours

Matterport and iGUIDE — the two walkthrough platforms Urban Angles delivers virtual tours on.

Hotspot — a clickable point inside a virtual tour that surfaces detail about a feature or finish.

Delivery

Standard / Express / Super X — the three photography turnaround tiers: close of business next business day, midday next business day, and 9am next business day.

DREAM — Digital Real Estate Asset Manager, the Urban Angles ordering, booking and delivery portal.

Web and high resolution — the two file sets delivered with every job: web for portals and social, high for print and signage.
