Aerial capture is a regulated activity in Australia, governed by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA). Here's how Urban Angles' aerial work is delivered.
How aerial capture is operated
Urban Angles' drone operations are delivered through partners who operate within CASA guidelines. Aerial photography and video are ordered, scheduled, retouched and delivered through Urban Angles like any other product — the flying itself is performed by those partner operators.
What that means for a booking
- Airspace applies to the address, not the product. Restrictions exist near airports, over crowds, in controlled airspace and in some public-land settings
- Known restrictions are flagged before the shoot, so an aerial booking isn't confirmed for a site where it can't legally be flown
- Weather governs the day. Wind and visibility can move an aerial booking; rescheduling is handled by the Customer Experience team as part of the service
- Helicopter aerial is available where drone flight isn't permitted or won't achieve the required altitude

Where a restriction can only be identified on site, you're informed as soon as possible rather than after the fact.
If drone isn't possible
An address that can't be flown still has options. Elevated hero externals, helicopter aerial where the budget supports it, and — for developments — streetscape and masterplan renders all deliver the context a drone would have shown. The Customer Experience team will propose the alternative at booking rather than simply cancelling the product.
