The architectural package

The Architectural Photography Package covers a full shoot delivering 10 hero images and 10 detail images, with additional hero or detail images available. Capture runs across both day and dusk where the building warrants it, because a facade and its lighting design rarely read the same at both times.

  • Hero shots — the building as a whole, composed for publication
  • Detail shots — materials, junctions, joinery, the resolution that makes the project
  • Dusk capture — internal and external lighting doing their job
  • Drone and aerial — form, roof plane, site relationship and context
  • Interior visualisation — where a space is documented before completion or fitout

A video add-on is available on the architectural package: a three-hour shoot including drone, delivering a 2–3 minute film plus two 30-second social cuts.

Architectural Photography is from $1,595 inc GST as an indicative figure, with additional hero and detail selections priced per image. Confirmed at booking.

Preparing a building for an architectural shoot

Architectural photography is unforgiving of a building that isn't finished being a building:

  • Construction complete and site clean — no hoarding, skips, tape or trades vehicles
  • Landscaping established — new planting reads as unfinished in a hero frame
  • Glazing and surfaces cleaned — reflections show every mark at this level of capture
  • Lighting commissioned and set — dusk capture depends entirely on it
  • Furniture and styling in place — an unfurnished interior reads as an empty shell
  • Access to roof, plant and adjoining vantage points — arranged in advance where the composition needs elevation

Timing against awards deadlines

Awards and publication submissions have fixed closing dates, and the shoot has to sit far enough ahead of them to allow for selection, retouching and a weather contingency on dusk work. Book against the submission date rather than the completion date — practices that book on completion frequently find the light or the landscaping isn't ready.

Interiors and product

Interior designers use interior visualisations and product renders for concepts still in development, and commercial or lifestyle photography once a space is built and styled.
